Read on to find out the top paint retailers’ picks for the 2022 colors of the year and how you can incorporate them into your home.

Benjamin Moore
October Mist, a gently shaded sage color, is Benjamin Moore’s pick for the 2022 color of the year. The silver-green color evokes creativity and can quietly anchor a space while also encouraging individuality. Depending on the space, October Mist can read as a gray and provides a strong foundation for a room that can be additionally enhanced by additional layers of color or stand well on its own.

Where to Use October Mist: October Mist brings a sense of grounding to the kitchen, whether on the cabinets or the walls. The soft sage color is also an excellent choice for an office, as it can help inspire creativity while also creating a sense of calm.

Sherwin-Williams
Evergreen Fog is also a soft shade of green. Sherwin-Williams’ 2022 color of the year is a beautiful, mid-tone, green-gray hue with a slight blue undertone. It’s a soft yet sophisticated color that can be both subtle and also make a statement. Evergreen Fog is a hue that can transform your home into a nature-inspired sanctuary while adding depth and interest. Evergreen Fog was selected while keeping sustainability and organic living in mind. The calming green hue also complements organic textiles and natural materials prevalent in current home design trends. Evergreen Fog beautifully compliments natural fabrics such as linen and wool.

Where to Use Evergreen Fog: Evergreen Fog is a beautiful choice for a living area or great room. It’s subtle enough to drench the whole room in the green-gray hue and it will beautifully complement the various textures that bring comfort and warmth into a space.

Behr
Behr’s pick for the 2022 color of the year is Breezeway, another silvery-green shade with cool undertones. This hue is inspired by the sparkling sea glass that is found on beaches. Breezeway evokes feelings of peace and coolness.

Where to Use Breezeway: Applying Breezeway to an entryway creates a fresh, welcoming feel as you enter the home. The silvery green hue creates an energizing feel while also signaling a calming atmosphere.

Farrow & Ball
Farrow & Ball selected a paint palette for its 2022 color of the year, and the colors are an eclectic mix that creates a warm and harmonious feel.

  • Babouche: A dusty golden hue that is reminiscent of sunshine and can help a room feel more optimistic. Whether it’s applied to a kitchen, entryway or living room, it can help any space feel more cheerful.
  • School House White: This soft, muted white lends a sense of calm to any room that needs a neutral base.
  • Breakfast Room Green: This cheerful green maintains its lively hue in the bright morning sun or while you’re enjoying an evening meal by candlelight. This color was designed with the historically east-facing breakfast room in mind, making it a perfect color for rooms that get the east-facing morning sun.
  • Stone Blue: A warm and timeless blue, Stone Blue is lively and saturated and pairs well with warm and cool paint colors. Stone Blue is a beautiful pick for a formal or casual living room.
